Fall at peak

Fall has arrived on the Passage.

The color on the mountains is rapidly increasing and over the next several days the best show of the autumn should be center stage.  The weather is cooperating with cool nights in the 40's and warm days in the 70's.  We haven't had a hard frost yet, but that doesn't seem to matter since the turn of the leaves is on schedule.

The cool nights bring fog to the valleys muting the color of the trees in the soft gray veil.  By mid-morning the sun burns away the shroud and bright blue skies are the background for bold yellows and flaming reds.

The show is short and now is the time to enjoy the season. In a dozen days, or less the season will be literal and the color will indeed, fall.

Time to ride.
